The Pool Committee is set up under the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
The composition of the committee has to reflect the Danish media landscape and international media is represented in the committee as well.
The overall assignment of the Pool Committee is to allocate pool seats during events where the creation of pools is necessary. When allocating pool seats emphasis is placed on effective and quick distribution of material through well-known sources.
The decisions made by the Pool Committee are consensus-based and the committee is obliged to take into account the interests of Danish and international media as well as non-represented media when appropriate.
Members of the Pool Committee include The Association of Danish Media, DR, The Royal Court, Polfoto, Ritzau, Scanpix, TV2, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (chairperson), weekly magazines and IPC (representing international press).
